Are You Clairvoyant, Clairaudient, Clairsentient, or Claircognizant?  Personally, I don’t think it really matters.

Are you clairvoyant, clairaudient, clairsentient, or claircognizant?  Personally, I don’t think it really matters.

Throughout the history of spiritual teaching there has been a lot of attention given to the “clairs,” or the “clairsenses,” like clairvoyance, clairaudience, clairsentience, and claircognizance.  After all, this is where any decent teacher worth their salt will start with you, right?  They say to you, “let’s find out how you receive your messages from spirits.  Then we can go about strengthening those messages from there.”

As an intuitive, I understand this logic.  I also understand for the last hundred years; this has been the way of doing things.  Millions, if not billions, of dollars, has been made on books, classes, and quizzes pushing this exact kind of information.

But, what if there’s another way?

Personally, I don’t think you need the clairs.  I believe this is a way many intuitives, who are unsure of their ability, tend to procrastinate.  This certainly rang true for me!  You see, you can spend a lot of time inside the clairs, researching the clairs, testing the clairs, but let me challenge you a little bit…

Do you really need them?  Do you really need to know how you hear things?  Or, do you already know?

Instead, I suggest you sit quietly, or meditate, and simply ask for a message.  With this method, you will instinctively know how messages are coming in.  You will know if you are hearing it, seeing it, knowing it, etc.  The key is not to overthink it.  Just trust that you will know.

What if we’re asking the wrong question when we are learning to hone in on our gifts?

When we try to work with clairs, we are asking how.  How do I receive my information?  Is it by sight?  Do I hear it?  Do I think it?  Basically, we are asking the question, “how is the spirit transcribing something that is telepathic in nature to our five senses,” and “how are we picking up on it?”

But, what if we are asking the wrong question?  What if a better question would be who? Who are we receiving our information from the strongest?

I believe everyone can talk to angels, spirit guides, sprites, ascended masters, etc.  But, I think depending on who we are and what our purpose is, we are more in tune with one type or group over another.  We receive our messages stronger from one group, depending on our nature or what frequency we work on.

In spiritual coaching sessions, I have gotten messages from angels, star-seeds, ascended master, ancestors…you name it.  My information, comes from what I call the committee, it’s a combination of guides, angels and masters. Some intuitives experience their best communication with angels, while others with spirit guides.  Traditional mediums may experience their most heightened communication and clarity with crossed-over individuals or earth-bounds.

I also think who you are talking to can give you further clues into your life purpose, too. So, instead of asking what, we ask who to help us better understand ourselves, our gifts and our purpose.

This is a new generation with a brand new group of intuitives.  I am not suggesting throwing the baby out with the bathwater, but I think some newer, and more applicable techniques or questions, are in order.

Do you know who you talk to the most?  Who do you feel most comfortable talking with?  Who do you get the most information from?

In my next blog, I’m going to talk more about this who, how to find out who your guides are and who you communicate with the strongest.

Spoiler alert!  It’s soooo much simpler than you think!
